Patch 5.5 for MMORPG Final Fantasy XIV, Death Unto Dawn, will be split in two and pave the way for the fourth major Endwalker expansion. The first part will be released on April 13 and will bring with it the long-awaited third chapter of YoRHa: Dark Apocalypse – a NieR-style alliance raid that Yosuke Saito and Yoko Taro worked on. The patch also contains many new quests and combat content, mechanic updates, and more.
During the “Letter from the Producer” presentation, producer and director Naoki Yoshida revealed new information about the PlayStation 5 version of Final Fantasy XIV, which will be released in open beta along with patch 5.5. In addition to previously announced improvements such as higher frame rates, faster loading times and 4K support, the next-gen version will also include DualSense haptic feedback, new trophies and 3D audio support.
In addition, details have been revealed about the upcoming digital festival. On May 14th, fans will have an event with new information about Endwalker, developer panel and a piano concert. On May 15, the next presentation “Letter from the Producer” will take place live, and a concert of The Primals is also expected.
