The Next Call of Duty May Be Set In The 1950s, WWII Isn’t Over

An insider under the nickname ModernWarzone spoke about the setting of the new Call of Duty part. Apparently, the action takes place in an alternate reality, where the Second World War did not end in 1945. Players will find themselves in the 1950s. By the way, the tentative working title is Call of Duty WWII: Vanguard… The new part will mention real events that happened during World War II, but apparently Activision decided to move away from “real conflicts” and do something of its own.

The development is presumably done by the studio Sledgehammer Games, which has already done the last two parts (Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War). One way or another, the next part of Call of Duty should be released at the end of 2021, Activision itself said about this.

If Activision really decided to move Call of Duty into an alternative World War II, then Call of Duty League 2022 will be held on this platform, and not in Black Ops Cold War.
