In Dying Light 2, you will have plenty to do before Aiden reaches the maximum level, but if you want to unlock his full potential, it is worth understanding how the system of experience, skills, rank and other characteristics works.
Yes, the maximum pumping will require some additional effort from you, but in general, most of the development occurs naturally: you just need to go through the story, explore the game world and complete side tasks on the map. You will mainly develop skill trees, increase your rank, and pump health and stamina.
We will tell you about them, but read about how to pump another important parameter – resistance to the zombie virus (time spent in the dark), read in our other material.
Experience Gaining and Level Caps in Dying Light 2
The skill tree in the game is divided into two independent branches. One is responsible for Aiden’s combat skills, the other for parkour. Each branch has its own experience scale.
To unlock one skill from combat or parkour branches, you need to gain the required amount of experience – you can get it for completing quests, exploring special zones, or performing actions related to this branch: fight or jump on roofs, respectively. For complex techniques, more experience is due, there is also a bonus for night outings, for which, however, you will definitely have to live until dawn.
At the moment, both branches are limited to a maximum level of 25, which means that sooner or later you will be able to learn all the available skills. In at least 50+ hours, it is quite possible to upgrade both combat and parkour to level 18.
Player rank in Dying Light 2
As you level up your combat and parkour skills, your player rank. The rank here can be considered an analogue of the character level in RPG: firstly, the rank determines the maximum level of equipment that Aiden can use at the moment, and secondly, it characterizes Aiden’s readiness to visit the more dangerous areas of Villedor.
Each area on the map corresponds to a range of ranks. The game does not forbid you to enter areas with a rank higher than yours, but it will be much more difficult to survive in them. Things are the same with enemies: if the difference in ranks is not in your favor, then the greater it is, the less likely it is to emerge victorious from the battle.
Max health and stamina in Dying Light 2
The last of the leveling restrictions in Dying Light 2 is related to health And endurance Aiden. The only way to increase these parameters is to look for and use Inhibitors, which can be obtained by completing tasks or exploring the world. Most often, containers with inhibitors are found in the VGM isolation rooms, as well as in the VGM anomalies, where you first have to fight the Revenants.
Having acquired three inhibitors, you can increase either health or stamina by one point. Good health allows you to survive more blows, good stamina allows you to stay out of breath longer while running on rooftops and in battle. Leveling is carried out in the skills menu, and there you can also see that some combat and parkour skills require certain values of health and stamina.
The maximum level of both indicators is 26, however, there are not enough inhibitors in the game to pump both of them up to it. You will have to choose, but investing in one thing is unlikely to be a good idea: there are enough situations in the game where both health and stamina will come in handy.
