Using seeders, we can sow the following plants:
- wheat
- barley
- rape
- soya beans
- radish
We have 13 tools to choose from in the shop. The working speed achieved by the seeders varies from 15 to 18 km / h. The machines vary in width, from 3 to 25.6 meters. Similar to the capacity of a seed combine – depending on the model, we can only have 1000 liters of volume. In the latter case, we will have to buy a special combine.
If you need a seed drill to start with, you can choose the KUHN BTF 4000 (1) at a price of 14,000 €. In the assortment, tools for small tractors are the widest, and reach 4 meters in width. But they do not have a seed container, so the savings on the purchase quickly decrease. The special module (2) costs 11,000 euros and has a capacity of 1500 liters. And at a price of 25,000 euros, we have a 4-meter planter with a medium-sized tank.
The cheapest seed drill is the AMAZONE D8 30 tool at a price of 13,000 euros. It has a small tank with a capacity of 1000 liters and its width is 3 meters. This is definitely a good choice if you don’t have too many large area fields. More expensive models such as the Vaderstad Spirit R 300S and Old Ceres Master 3570 are slightly wider, but still less than 4 meters wide.
With more expensive models, it is possible to sow without pre-tillage. The 3m Vaderstad Spirit R 300S has the largest tank in this category with a volume of 2800 liters and can be useful in wider areas. But it costs 30,000 euros, but it is the most versatile tool to start with.
If you have a medium tractor and some money, you should be interested in the LEMKEN Solitair 12 (3). The seeder has a width of 12 meters and a volume of 5800 liters. Its price is 107,000 euros, and its parameters are more advantageous compared to the slightly cheaper HORSCH Pronto 9 DC.
In the case of large tractors, we have three seeders, of which only one of them has a tank. This is an Old Estrela 32 for €215,000 with a width of 14.4 meters and a tank capacity of 8,750 liters. The most expensive model, the Vaderstad Seed Hawk XL Toolbar 84FT, requires very expensive tractors as well as an expensive 34,500 liter tank. If we have €475,000 available and we have very large fields, then this is the best choice.
The second modular kit for a large tractor costs 310,000 euros and has weaker parameters than the Vaderstad version. The drill of the Hatzenbichler TERMINATOR TH18 reaches 18 meters in width, and the special tank has a volume of 720 liters. This kit seems more attractive than the Stara Estrela 32 planter, but we have to spend 95,000 euros to buy it.
