On this page of our Wolfenstein: Youngblood game guide, we explain what happens if everyone dies and how to increase the current number of lives you own. Both of these data are extremely important in order to survive until the end of each mission.
Wolfenstein: Youngblood has a rather unusual mechanism for “managing” the lives of the main characters of the game. Jessica and Sophie have a common “pool” of lives (Shared Lives).
When you have exhausted your total life pool, the game is over. And you will be forced to start a new mission.
Information about the number of lives is displayed on the right edge of the screen and is indicated by small hearts.
In the example above, the sisters have 2 lives left. This means that in the example scenario presented here, a maximum of two deaths is allowed – one of the sisters can die a maximum of 2 times, or each of them can die only 1 time.
You can increase the mortality limit by finding and opening a Shared Life Box marked with a heart symbol. Looting each such box adds 1 life to Shared Lives.
If a sister falls after taking heavy damage, it does not mean that she dies. She bleeds out, but the other sister can still save her by speaking to her and performing the “resurrect” interaction. Death will come if you don’t reach the dying sister in time, or when both sisters bleed to death because they can’t help each other get well.
